Rawan Alghamdi is a biologist specialized in molecular biology and biotechnology, her main area of interest revolves on gene expression, sequencing, and functional genetics.

In 2018, Rawan started as a junior lab technician in the College of Science laboratories, biology department KAU and KFMRC.

In 2021, She finished her master degree and certified as a specialized medical laboratory - Genetics, Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) and started working as a molecular laboratory specialist in molecular diagnostic laboratories, focused on different molecular genetic techniques such as; Gene expression analysis, Clinical WES & WGS, RNA-Seq, Meta-genomics, Meta-transcriptomics, Fragment analysis, Sanger sequencing.

Rawan has also good experience in writing & implementing laboratory policies & SOPs following College of American Pathologists CAP and CBAHI guidelines.

At STEMD lab, she is currently working as a Research Specialist supporting the studies of the molecular dysregulations associated with X chromosome during the earliest stages of human development.
