Biography

I am a Biological Engineer from the National University of Colombia. I have been involved in research since the first years of my bachelor's. I have acquired experience in molecular biology and stem cell techniques, with basic knowledge in nanotechnology and analytical chemistry. I participated in KAUST’s Visiting Student Research Program in the Stems Cells and Regenerative Medicine laboratory under the guidance of Mo Li for 6 months, where I used the CRISPR-Cas9 system for knocking out the Myoglobin gene (Mb) from Human Embryonic Stem Cells H1 line. Currently, I am learning about the differentiation of human Pluripotent Stem Cells into Pancreatic Endoderm Cells and Cardiomyocytes at the Stem Cells and Diseases (STEMD) Laboratory under the mentoring of Antonio Adamo. My research interests are Stem Cells, Cellular Differentiation, Epigenetics, and Genome Editing.
